Major Gary Rudig

Gary joined the Chesterfield Police Department in January of 1976 under Chief Moses Beeman.

He has served this community since that date as a full-time officer. During his career he has attained numerous ranks with the agency. He is currently the major with the agency.

As the major, he is responsible for numerous grants, budgetary decisions, as well as administrative decisions with the department. As the major he must be able to make decisions with the agency in the absence of the Police Chief.

Gary has had extensive training in the area of sexual assault and domestic violence. He is recognized as one of the training officers with this agency and has been recognized for his expertise in these areas along with drunk drivers. He has served as a breath test operator since 1976 and is a sobriety field test instructor for the State of Indiana.
