Gene Lewis, patrol officer

Gene became a member of the Chesterfield Police Department in January 1977. He was one of the original reserve officers who helped shape this agency into one of the best police forces in the state of Indiana.

Through his leadership and character as captain of the reserves in the early 1980s, the department became even more community oriented and began several community programs that benefited the needy such at the Thanksgiving basket program that has helped many local families.

He is an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Anderson, Indiana, a member of the American Legion, and the Anderson Auxiliary Police Department.
