Police Chief James M. Kimm
Chief Kimm joined this agency in December of 1997. He served the community for a brief period as a reserve officer prior to being sworn as a full-time policeman. He was promoted to chief of police in 2004. He has specialized training in the fields of crisis negotiation, domestic violence investigation / instructor, sexual assault investigation / instructor, breath test operation, drunk driving, white collar crimes, and methamphetamine investigation. He is a general instructor certified through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, Indiana. James’ interests include organized softball leagues, bowling, and coaching Little League in our community. He is a member of the United States Bowling Congress. His abilities in bowling have earned him many “perfect” 300 games and awards. His goals and desires are for this agency to be the best police department in the State of Indiana. He has accomplished many things since becoming the police chief and hopes that everyone knows his door is always open to the officers and community for suggestions.
