BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS (BZA)

The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) has the authority to hear and decide appeals to Chesterfield zoning ordinances. The BZA makes sure that community development and growth complies with the rules set forth by the zoning ordinances.

Meetings
The BZA meets as needed at the Chesterfield Government Center, 17 Veteran's Blvd.

Members
Members of the BZA are appointed by the Chesterfield Town Council president.

Written Testimonies
In accordance with Indiana law, a person may not communicate with any member of the board before the hearing with intent to influence the member’s action on a matter pending before the board. Not less than five days before the hearing, however, the town staff may file with the board a written statement setting forth any facts or opinions relating to the matter.
